Terms of Service

Last updated October 15, 2026

These terms apply when you use Trails, the website and app at usetrails.app (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you use Trails for a company, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for that company.

1. The Service

Trails shows how brands appear in AI assistants and Google Search, joins that with your own Google data, and helps you plan and prepare marketing work. It includes AI visibility tracking, a growth plan built from Search Console and Google Analytics, a content studio for briefs, topic plans and drafts, search research, community listening, a launch plan for new brands, and automations. Features may change as we improve the product. Some features rely on third-party services, such as AI models, Google APIs and search-data providers, and their availability can vary.

2. Your account

Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at support@usetrails.app if you think someone has used your account without permission.

3. Connected Google accounts

Only connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics properties that you are authorized to access, and only for brands you have permission to work on. Trails asks for read-only access and cannot change anything in those accounts. You can disconnect them at any time. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data from connected accounts.

4. Brands and websites you add

Add only brands and websites you own or have permission to work on. Trails reads the public pages of the websites you add, and public information about the competitors you name, to build your reports. You are responsible for the brand facts, guidelines and other information you give us being accurate and yours to use.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful, deceptive or harmful;
  • try to access other users’ data or bypass the Service’s security or usage limits;
  • reverse engineer the Service, or resell it without our written permission;
  • use the Service to send spam or to publish content you are not allowed to publish; or
  • use AI output from the Service to mislead people, including fake reviews or claims you can’t support.

6. Your content and AI output

You own the data and content you bring to Trails, and, as far as the law allows, the briefs, drafts and other output Trails produces for you. You give us permission to process your content only as needed to provide the Service to you.

Drafts, briefs, insights and recommendations are produced with AI models and can be wrong or incomplete, even after Trails checks them against your facts and guidelines. Review them before you publish or act on them. You are responsible for what you publish.

7. Automations and agents

Automations run only when you switch them on, on the schedule shown in the app. They prepare work, such as scans, briefs and drafts, and wait for your review. They never publish anything, and never change your website or your Google accounts. You can switch them off at any time.

8. Measurements and results

Trails reports measured numbers from Google, AI assistants and other sources for the period shown. Those sources can differ from each other, change their data, or be unavailable. AI assistants’ answers vary from one question to the next. We do not guarantee any ranking, AI mention, traffic or sales result.

9. Third-party data and services

Reports may include public information from third parties, such as AI assistant answers, community posts and search-market data. We do not control that information and cannot guarantee it is accurate. Your use of connected Google services is also subject to Google’s terms.

10. Fees

If you subscribe to a paid plan, you agree to the price and billing terms shown when you subscribe. Until then, the Service is provided free of charge. We may introduce or change pricing with reasonable advance notice.

11. Termination

You can stop using Trails and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms. After an account is closed, we delete its data as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, Trails is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. If we make a material change, we will notify account holders before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated terms.
